Hello!

My name is Rishmie. I'm 20 year old female and I live in Spain.

I have been interested in Street Photography for a long time and I have a Nikkon D5000 camera with a AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 G Lens. So I'm a very newbie amateur here.

Can some of you experienced persons out here give me some tips and advices, please. I would like to know if I have the right camera and right equipment for the job! :)

You can search me on facebook in the group 'On every street' or Game with Leica and look at my pictures. I would like some feedback if possible.

Thank you very much in advance! :)

PS: Sorry if my English isn't correct, it's not my maine language.

Depends actually on what the person thinks. Some street photographer do it for the fun and don't think by it. They are sometimes more focused on the individual then socially.

My own personal oppinion? Well, let's say I'm not quite sure about it :P

I would say that your attitude and reaction were very appropriate in the situation. Parents and grandparents were in their right too :).

Thank you Aristos. I found it the right thing to do! Before they would have done something horrible as smash my camera :P

Well I think if the person doesn't notice it then it isn't a problem really. However when a person notices it and seems that he does mind that you take a picture of him then I guess you should show him/her the picture and tell what why you are doing this.

This happened to me yesterday, I took a picture of a child (boy) who was letting a artist make a cartoon sketch of him. I took a few pictures of the boy and the artist and walked away. When suddenly a angry father and grandmother came to me to ask me why I took a picture of her grandson and his son. I told him what I did, that I was a amateur street photographer and found it nice combination since the sketch was pretty funny. Even so the  father and grandmother asked me to delete the picture and so I did. Making sure that they were watching with me as I deleted the pictures. I can understand perfectly with all those crazy and dirty wacko's running around. If I had a child and somebody would take a picture of him/her then I would have done the same thing. :)

So I guess if you are making picture's you should be extra carefull about childeren. They are a very sensitive subject.~
